A Monsoon Roadtrip To Daman

A Monsoon Roadtrip To Daman

If you’re a road-tripping kind and love driving then this is where you should head to. Western Ghats during monsoons exude a captivating image. The experience is magical! Move over your Lonavala, Khandala and the likes, and pack your bags for this quaint little town. These reasons might just help you plan your Daman escapade.

  1. The Ghats

1

Maneuvering through the picturesque western ghats in Monsoons is a different experience altogether. Rain-kissed leaves, lush green grass and evergreen forests on both sides make up for a spectacular journey. The drive from Mumbai to Daman is through the well maintained NH8.

  1. The Beaches

2

India’s long western coastline is dotted with several beaches. Adorning this quaint town are the Devka and Jampore beaches. The Devka beach is lovely and has an amusement park right by the beach with multi-coloured fountains, a kids’ corner and a food court. If you fancy a swim, head to Jampore beach 3 kms south of Daman.

  1. Cheap Alcohol – Daman for Daru

3

No excise duty, and prohibition-slaked Gujarat next door, make the union territory of Daman a haven for those starved of liquor. Most of Daman, as a result, is like one large Duty Free shop in an European airport.

  1. The Colonial Charm

4

Though this fortified city is a port town, it also has the Mediterranean charms and influence of Goa. It is picturesque, with its important harbour guarded by a lighthouse and in whose blue waters little fishing boats bob about. The forts and churches tell stories of the Portuguese colonisation in India. It is still preserved in the old churches and government buildings.

  1. The Deltin

5

The Deltin is the ideal place for leisure, corporate groups and destination weddings. Spread across 10 acres, The Deltin, Daman is the most luxurious getaway resort to stay at in Daman. The tariffs are affordable, not the ones to burn a hole in your pocket. The luxury resort boasts of 176 exquisitely designed rooms that open to Daman’s greenery and the very large meandering pool. There’s a spa with 7 treatment rooms offering European and Asian treatments. It also houses the Emperor Restaurant, famous for its authentic multi-cuisine culinary delights. Make sure to check out their attractive offers while you book your stay! Indeed a grand dip into luxury.

Wanderlusting, are you?
