Even though they already have enough money to support a couple of generations, these ambitious entrepreneurs are still going strong with new business ventures. - Li Ka Shing- Number26
Sir Ka-Shing Li is a Hong Kong business magnate, investor and philanthropist. He is currently the chairman of the board for CK Hutchinson Holdings and is the second richest man in Asia, with a net worth of US$ 27.1 Billion. He is also currently backing the funding for Number26, a German mobile financial service that aims to become a pan-European bank.
- Peter Andreas Thiel- Seasteading
Peter Andreas Thiel was the co-founder of PayPal and was the first outside investor in Facebook. Apart from these, Peter Thiel is also known for his controversial involvement with the Sea steading Institute in order to realize his dream of creating a manmade island nation where inventors could work free of heavy handed government interference. More than a decade later however, the dream is yet to be realized.
- Elon Musk- Space X
Elon Musk is a man known for making his ideas into a reality. He is currently the CEO of Tesla and more recently, of Space X. Through Space X, Elon hopes to make space exploration a reality and has already made some progress in that regard with the successful launch and landing of its orbital rocket, the Falcon 9. This is the first time ever that an orbital class booster has been brought back intact onto our planet. Elon hopes to enable humans to reach the surface of Mars within the next 10-20 years.

Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group, needs no introduction. Recently, Branson has been pre-occupied with creating a new industry- space tourism. Through Virgin Galactic, Branson hopes to develop commercial spacecrafts that aim to provide suborbital spaceflights to tourists, suborbital missions for space science missions, and orbital launches of small satellites. Now this is one industry we are definitely looking forward to experiencing!
- Carlos Slim- Claro Musica
Carlos Slim is a Lebanese Mexican business magnate, investor and philanthropist. From 2010 to 2013, he was listed as the richest man in the world and has been nicknamed ‘the Warren Buffet of Mexico’. He derived his fortune from his conglomerate, Grupo Carso. One of his most recent ventures goes by the name of Claro Musican, which is an online music service that is a Latin American equivalent of iTunes and Spotify. Carlos and his son have been trying to increase their presence in Mexico’s retail music industry since 2013 and this is one of his major moves in that regard.
- Jack Ma- Chateau De Sours
Jack Ma, the founder of and executive chairman of the Alibaba Group, now has his eyes set on the wine industry. In 2016, he completed his purchase of Chateau De Sours as well as Chateau Perenne, both of which belong to the Bordeaux region of France. Ma has since formed a partnership with several other Chinese owners in Bordeaux to create a nègociant company called Cellar Privelege.

As if Space X wasn’t enough, Elon Musk has another venture under his sleeve as well: The hyperloop. While being a registered trademark of Space X itself, the hyperloop is something that will revolutionize transport as we know it. It is a pneumatic tube transportation system, which incorporates reduced pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction motors and air compressors. In short, it would be an extremely fast means of land transport capable of achieving a top speed of 1,200 km/hr!
