Whether you’re tempted by the idea of waking up in the Moroccan desert, Bolivian salt flats or at the foothills of the Andes, a bespoke luxury travel company will erect a temporary tent for you, with any interiors you desire.
So if you’d like a hot tub attached for unwinding in at sunset or a Michelin-star chef flown in to make you breakfast, the possibilities are as endless as your budget, with some options costing up to £23,000 per person.
The service, Blink, by Black Tomato has been designed to offer travellers ‘customisable and rare’ experiences, tapping into the trend for total personalisation wherever tourists take their holiday.
Before their trip glampers can decide on the layout of their tent and if they’d like a separate kitchen, lounge, dining tents and a hot tub at the site, too.
Choosing from an online room service style menu they can also arrange for a yoga instructor, a local chef, Michelin-starred chef and supplies shipped from their favorite store to be transported to the location.
After selecting their destination, the team at Black Tomato can create a full package including tours for the group.
When the holiday ends, the travel companies sweep in to deconstruct the tent.
They stress that Blink ‘leaves nothing behind except the environment in its natural state.’
Visitors have described their tents as quite the fairytale experience. Picture an Aladdin meets Disney palaces kind of experience. With services and luxurious experiences like these being curated exclusively for their rich and powerful customers by Black Tomato, they really aren’t short of a genie in bottle (tent, rather)

Explaining the concept, Black Tomato founder Tom Marchant said: ‘Inspired by the rising trend of personalisation and the quest for an experience that’s truly yours and yours alone, we wanted to utilise our travel expertise and destination knowledge and ask ourselves if it would be possible to create a luxury accommodation experience that can exist and be enjoyed for a brief moment never to be replicated again. It’s with this notion that we developed the idea for Blink.’
He added: ‘Whether it’s positioning your tent in an exact location to see the sunrise from a particular sand dune in Morocco that’s never been camped on before, or setting up a luxury camp on a fjord in Iceland that’s barely been explored, Blink aims to get clients off the grid experiencing a one-of-a-kind travel experience that can never be replicated in that same location.’
But an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experience to boast about back home does not come cheap.
Prices can range from £8,800 per person, based on six travelling together for a three-night stay in Morocco to £23,800 per person for a Bolivian trip for six people for four nights.
Neither of these includes airfare.
